About Us
After much research and planning, the Farmers Market Committee and the Milledgeville Main Street/Downtown Development Authority - Farmers Market Committee, with help from the Georgia College and State University Art Department and Physical Plant, and the City of Milledgeville Public Works Department, Police Department, Explorers Post volunteers, and Mayor Richard Bentley, many have enjoyed three months of success at the new Milledgeville Marketplace Farmers Market.
The Milledgeville Marketplace is held every Tuesday from 4-7p in the city parking lot at 222 East Hancock Street in historic Milledgeville. Free parking is provided in the grassy cut field behind the parking lot (which you can access from Elbert Street). The market attracts an average of over 400 visitors each week. It is here that anywhere from 9 to 24 licensed vendors sell items that are primarily Georgia Made Georgia Grown, including fruits, vegetables, peanuts, plants, bulbs, flowers, honey, baked goods, beverages, beef, seafood, and specific arts and crafts.
Come by after work or make a special trip to town to enjoy fresh samples, view the murals painted by GCSU art students, shop, and visit with your friends.
